Gospel singer Rob Miller was born in the Northwestern Mountains of Ashe County, North Carolina, near the Virginia state line.  He learned Shape Note singing at nine, performed with The Messengers Trio, The Gospel Four, and the Lamplighter's Quartet, and has been writing gospel songs since he was twenty-three.
